Business Development Manager

About the role

Reporting to the VP, Strategy, as Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Neon’s direction by leveraging your experience with Fortune 500 companies and funded start-ups. You’ll develop strategic relationships with potential partners with the lens of building for the future. You excel at identifying long-term engagements and cultivating new opportunities with a consultative selling approach. You’ll oversee relationships from the opportunity through to the discovery phase, collaborating with the VP, Strategy to ensure a seamless handover.

Your experience with digital and emerging technology helps you to uncover untapped market opportunities. Both your resilience and engaging personality pushes you to uncover the opportunity.  You can read between the lines and seek undiscovered areas of revenue. Your understanding of technology will allow you to identify and meet the business needs of Neon’s potential partners. You’re great at getting a partner excited to keep the conversations going. 


What you’ll do

  • Understand potential partners’ business goals and strategies to create and deliver compelling proposals 
  • Identify and develop a list of potential partners organized by region and industry
  • Implement drip campaigns to capture new opportunities
  • Track lead progress and outcomes in Pipedrive, providing learnings to the team to continue improving the business development process
  • Create and collaborate with Neon’s team leads to align and execute on engagement strategies
  • Anticipate and sell to needs prospective partners haven’t yet discovered or acknowledged

What you’ll bring to the team

  • You have 5-7 years of experience excelling in a consultative business development role in the digital space
  • You can speak to the functional areas of our business, including product strategy, design, and development
  • You are comfortable with the ambiguity of new product concepts and experiences, but with the strategic clarity for building new products and services
  • You have experience writing business development proposals and leveraging case studies that create interest
  • You are a natural at building rapport, communicating ideas, and getting people on board
  • You have a methodical approach to business development 
  • Although not necessary, preferred if you have knowledge or business development experience in the Wellness, Education, Supply Chain and/or Retail Tech space
